Pralhad Joshi has stepped into his new role as India’s Education Minister, marking the commencement of his tenure with a thorough review of crucial educational schemes and a focus on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. After assuming office at Kartavya Bhavan in New Delhi, Joshi promptly engaged with senior officials from the Departments of School Education and Higher Education. This initial meeting was aimed at gaining a comprehensive understanding of the ministry’s current initiatives and ongoing projects.
In acknowledging his unfamiliarity with the education portfolio, Joshi expressed a commitment to taking the necessary time to fully grasp the complexities and demands of the ministry before making any detailed public statements. The additional portfolio was assigned to Joshi following the acceptance of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation by President Droupadi Murmu.
