India is set to kick off its 2027 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup journey with a high-stakes match against defending champions Australia. This opening clash will take place in Cape Town on October 7, marking the start of a challenging campaign for the Indian team.

Following their match against Australia, India will face off against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 10. This encounter, scheduled at Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium, promises to be one of the most eagerly anticipated fixtures in the group stage.

India has been placed in Group A, alongside teams such as Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and a yet-to-be-determined qualifier. The tournament, featuring 14 teams, is a collaborative hosting effort by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, providing a diverse range of venues for the matches.

After their showdown with Pakistan, India will continue their group matches against Afghanistan on October 14 in Tshwane, followed by a game against the qualifier team on October 17 in Bloemfontein. The group stage will conclude for India with a match against Zimbabwe on October 24 at Victoria Falls.
