Japan’s PM Takaichi Visits India: Economic and Business Discussions with Modi

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has embarked on a three-day official visit to India, marking her first trip to the country in her current role. During her stay, she will engage in discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit. The summit aims to enhance the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two nations.

This visit is set to focus on collaboration in key areas such as trade, investment, defense, technology, and regional security. Both leaders will evaluate the progress of their Special Strategic and Global Partnership, an initiative that underscores their nations’ commitment to working closely on shared interests.

Upon her arrival in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi extended a warm welcome to Takaichi, expressing his pleasure at hosting her inaugural visit to India. Modi highlighted the importance of their discussions, noting that they would cover a wide range of topics to further fortify the ties between their countries. He also reiterated the need for ongoing cooperation to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

The Ministry of External Affairs has indicated that the summit will serve as a platform for India and Japan to broaden their cooperation across various sectors. It will also allow both countries to exchange views on regional and global matters that are of mutual interest.
