Ram Temple Trust Faces Financial Scrutiny Amid Rai’s Resignation Over Donation Theft

Amid an ongoing probe into alleged misuse of funds intended for the Ram Mandir, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust has accepted the resignations of Champat Rai, its General Secretary, and trustee Anil Mishra. The decision was made in line with the trust’s constitution, as confirmed by trust treasurer Govind Giri, who also highlighted Rai’s significant role and contributions to the trust since its inception.

The resignations follow allegations of financial irregularities in the handling of temple donations. Pankaj Jaiswal, a senior member of the trust, expressed that the situation is both distressing and dishonorable, emphasizing that any misappropriation of funds given by devotees is intolerable. In the wake of these resignations, Krisha Mohan has been appointed as the interim General Secretary, while Govind Giri will continue his duties as treasurer.

The trust is set to convene again on July 22, coinciding with the expected submission of a final report by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the matter. Govind Giri assured that the trust would not shield anyone implicated in wrongdoing, asserting that all individuals found guilty should face the appropriate legal actions, regardless of their position within the organization.

Currently, eight individuals have been detained in connection with the alleged theft of donations, and the investigation is still underway. The trust remains committed to addressing these allegations thoroughly and ensuring that justice is served for any misconduct involving the sacred contributions of devotees.
